When the percutaneous foot surgery technique was first introduced, many complained about the lack of scientific evidence. This has since been dispelled by numerous publications, all of which demonstrate its equality, at least, with open techniques in terms of evidence level and results. Over the years many new techniques have been developed in the field of MIS. Therefore, the authors have decided to combine their knowledge and experience from many hundreds of surgeries as well as from many years of lecturing and training activities in a work that systematically presents the current state of percutaneous foot surgery. This book intends to provide MIS colleagues with a practice-oriented overview of the field, including many practical handouts and problem solutions for “everyday MIS“. This book is dedicated to Dr. Gebhard Suger who established minimally invasive foot surgery in Germany.
